RNIB Cymru has been successful in securing funding for a digital inclusion project through the Welsh Government's Communities 2.0 programme. The project aims to support blind and partially sighted people to use the latest technology to access services and information and reduce isolation. This includes, but is not limited to, support with email and the internet, Facebook and Skype, iPhones and iPads. The project will also engaging with community venues and existing initiatives to ensure that they are equipped to meet the needs of blind and partially sighted people.
We are recruiting 2 Social Media and Internet Engagement Officer ((Fixed term contract for 18 months)
Salary: £22,221 - £23,708
Hours: 36 per week
Location 1 Ref: 5977 : Swansea, Neath and Port Talbot (Office base Swansea Vale)
Location 2 Ref: 5978: Rhondda Cynon Taff and Merthyr Tydil with some outreach in Bridgend, Caerphilly, Blaenau Gwent and Torfaen. (Office base Rhondda Cynon Taff)
If you are competent in the use of technology, are a great communicator, are able to work well with a range of people, have patience and the ability to train and support people to learn about technology whilst also being able to plan and organise your work to meet deadlines this may be the job for you.
The appointment is subject to an ISA Barred Lists and Enhanced Criminal Records Check.
