What is the Hospital Support Service?
Cardiff Institute for the Blind has set up a service to support patients attending the eye clinic at the University Hospital of Wales at Heath Park.
What does the service offer?
Patients attending the eye clinic are given support information and reassurance in a non- obtrusive way.
Are volunteers given any training?
Yes - We need good listeners who will be given special awareness training and support from our full-time staff.
Will I have my expenses paid?
Yes - We pay your travel expenses to and from the hospital.
How often will I be needed?
That's up to you, but for this service we prefer volunteers who are able to give a regular commitment.
