What is the Computer Training Centre?
It provides access to and training on computers for visually impaired people. The centre also offers a service for the transcription of documents into braille and onto tape.
How do volunteers help at the Institute?
They offer computer training, guidance and help for visually impaired people learning basic keyboard, computer and transcription skills.
What kind of volunteer is needed?
We need computer literate volunteers, who would be happy to work with visually impaired people on a one-to-one basis.
Do I need to bring a thermos?
No, refreshments are provided and we can help with any travelling expenses.
How often will I be needed?
That's up to you, but for this service we prefer volunteers who are able to give a regular commitment.
