Cardiff Vales and Valleys

About Us

Cardiff Vales and Valleys (CVV) is the new operating name for Cardiff Institute for the Blind, and we are a registered charity.

We changed our identity in 2009 on becoming part of the RNIB Cymru Group to reflect our new remit, to expand our model of direct services and support for blind and visually impaired people in the Capital, right across South Wales. We now offer direct services in Cardiff, the Vale of Glamorgan, Swansea, Neath, Port Talbot, Rhondda Cynon Taff and Merthyr.

With a heritage dating back to 1865, we are run by sighted and visually impaired staff and volunteers; we are here when you need us to help more people live independent and lives.

We also work hard to ensure that the views and needs of visually impaired people are listened to in all levels of society. CVV is growing all the time, with more people benefiting from our vital support, and we need volunteers, donations and fund-raising support to help us provide more services to people.

Registered Charity number 214131.
