The Cardiff Institute For The Blind
The Cardiff Institute for the Blind (CIB) is an independent local voluntary organisation devoted to the welfare of Visually Impaired people within the counties of Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. The CIB needs the support of local people, both financially and as volunteers to continue and develop its work.
The CIB is a registered Charity, number 214131.
The CIB is registered under the Companies Act as a company limited by guaranteed, number 149982.
The CIB is governed by a Management Council comprising of up to twenty Trustees and two co-opted members from each of the County Councils in which its delivers its services.
The day to day management of the CIB is carried out by a team of full time staff who report directly to the Management Council.
Our Mission Statement
The CIB exists to enable visually impaired people within the Counties of Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan to live a full and normal life. It seeks to influence policies and practices of other organisations, individuals and service providers in the light of its experience and research, and, in accordance with the resources it has available, complement the range of services provided by these organisations by directly contributing its own set of services.
